Our Story
It started the way these things usually do: with something that broke. A rack that rusted before the year was out. A table that wobbled the first time anyone leaned on it. A finish that lifted while it still looked new in photos. None of it was expensive — that was the appeal, and also the problem. Replacing cheap things every year costs more than buying one good thing once.
So we stopped shopping and started specifying: what material, what thickness, what joint, what finish. Then we found workshops willing to build to those numbers instead of to a price.
Every Orivane piece is judged on what it’s made of and how it’s put together, long before anyone looks at how it photographs. We name the material in every listing — solid wood where it’s solid, engineered board where it isn’t — because “wood-look” isn’t a material. Stainless steel is specified by grade, not by appearance. No finish is chosen to look better on day one than on day hundred. Edges are hand-finished, bases are built to stay level, and then we live with the piece — weeks of real daily use, not a photo shoot. If it wobbles, rattles, rusts or lifts, it doesn’t make the catalogue.
We sell direct: no importer, no distributor, nothing between the workshop and your home. Free shipping across the U.S., 30-day returns, and a real reply from a real person within 24 hours.
The best things in a home are the ones you stop noticing.
